David Foster

David is a Solicitor, Head of Litigation at Barlow Robbins LLP a 21 partner firm in Surrey, England.  He is also a nationally known mediator.

His practice includes international work and judicial reviews against public bodies.  .  David has also acted for Christians who have fled to this country having suffered persecution in their normal place of residence.

Daniel Leader

Vice Chair, Barrister

Working in London, he specialises
in employment and discrimination law and continues to work on human rights issues in Africa, in particular in the field of business and human rights.

He and Pip Page were CLEAR's first interns from the UK in 1999-2000. He continues to be actively involved with the CLEAR project and regularly visits Kenya to encourage the CLEAR staff and to be re-inspired by their work.

Kamotho Waiganjo

Convenor of CLEAR Nairobi, LLB, LLM, Advocate

A partner in Kamotho Maiyo & Mbatia Advocates in Nairobi. He has practised law for 19 years and previously served as Chair of the KCLF. Kamotho also teaches at the Kenya School of Law in Nairobi and serves in various professional, social and Christian institutions including the Council of the Law Society and his Constituency Development Committee, a statutory local developmental body.

A partner in a large commercial firm in Mombasa, Tim has, through his pro bono work with CLEAR, been involved in most of their Constitutional challenges based on human rights. He has been one of the major driving forces since CLEAR’s inception in 1999.

Victor Kamau LLB is an outstanding Advocate. He has overcome his blindness to become one of the most articulate and impassioned advocates for the poor. He currently leads a number of human rights challenges and is a strong advocate of the need for legal aid for the poor.

Edward Sekabanja

Chairman – LLB, DLP

Edward runs his own practice in Kampala and is a well known lawyer representing many corporate clients as well as NGOs such as Habitat for Humanity.  He is also the head of Navigators in Uganda, a role that he has held for the past 10 years.  His reputation built up over the past 15 years of practice is such that he is well known for his commitment to justice for all and this sees him involved in much pro bono work.

 

   

Martin Erone

Committee Member - LLB, DLP, LLM (Liverpool)

Martin qualified as a lawyer 7 years ago and worked as a State Attorney before joining the Office of the Inspector General of Government.  Hethen worked as a Staff Attorney with International Justice Mission in Kampala before recently leaving to join Nsubuga & Co Advocates in private practice.

   

Annet Ttendo

UCLF Director - LLB, DLP

Annet finished her Law school studies in 1999 and was enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court.  Having worked for a year as a Legal Assistant in Kampala, she moved to FIDA Uganda where she spent 4 years as an Advocacy Officer before moving overseas to work with Christian Relief and Development Association (CRDA) in Ethiopia as the Coordinator for the Good Governance Forum.  She became the UCLF Staff Advocate and was then promoted to the role of Project Director in November 2006.
